Conference Report: HUMANITAS Global Congress of Flourishing 2025

On October 8–10, 2025, the HUMANITAS Global Congress of Flourishing was held at Humanitas University in Sosnowiec, Poland. This international and multidisciplinary event brought together psychologists, educators, physicians, social workers, and scholars from other fields to explore health, well-being, and human flourishing.

The congress opened with a welcome from Rector Dr. Mariusz Lekston, followed by addresses from representatives of the Scientific and Organizing Committees and partnering institutions. In total, more than 150 presentations were accepted, with over 30% of speakers affiliated with international institutions, confirming the global scope of the event.

Keynote lectures were delivered by internationally recognized scholars, including Prof. Ben C. H. Kuo (University of Windsor, Canada), Prof. Jan Cieciuch (Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, Poland), Prof. Arndt Büssing (University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany), Prof. Loren Toussaint (Luther College, USA), and Prof. Jon Webb (Texas Tech University, USA). The program also featured plenary talks by leading Polish academics, numerous thematic sessions, BLITZ presentations, and poster sessions, covering a wide spectrum of issues from education, mental health, and resilience to spirituality, forgiveness, and cross-cultural adaptation. The congress concluded with an inspiring keynote by Prof. Adrianna Mendrek (Bishop’s University, Canada) on mindfulness and flourishing.

Two best presentation awards were granted to Prof. Edyta Charzyńska (experienced researcher category) and Emilia Malicka, M.A. (young researcher category), with support from the nationwide Ariadna Research Panel.

The event was co-organized with Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germany) and supported by the Polish Ministry of Science under the Excellent Science II program, with additional sponsorship and honorary patronage from numerous academic and professional organizations.

As the chair of the Organizing Committee, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all speakers, participants, partners, and especially the student volunteers who made this event possible. The congress demonstrated the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and provided an inspiring platform for advancing research and practice on flourishing in times of global challenges.
